I will switch to English as Dutch is not my native language and maybe then I can explain a bit better. Approximately one month ago, fiber cabling was installed in my premises. About two weeks ago, a T-unit technician was scheduled to install the Telenet fiber modem. During this visit, the technician encountered difficulties registering the Telenet fiber modem. It was also noted that my previous coax modem operated in bridge mode, a capability the technician stated was not available on the new fiber modem. I advised the technician that I intended to use my own networking equipment (specifically a UDM Pro with a Zaram XGS-PON module) and would therefore not require bridge mode on the Telenet device. Instead of completing the standard installation process to ensure the Telenet fiber modem was fully activated and functional, the technician attempted to install my personal equipment directly. This direct installation was unsuccessful, leading the technician to determine that the issue required assistance from a more experienced colleague. Subsequently, the old coax modem was reinstalled. However, my account status on the Telenet portal now indicates I have fiber service, while the old coax modem remains active, resulting in an undesirable double NAT configuration. My prior network configuration seems to have been overwritten. It appears the issue stems from the installation procedure being incomplete or incorrect, specifically the attempt to bypass the standard Telenet modem setup. My proposed next step is to request Telenet perform the official service switch to fiber correctly using their standard procedure. Once the fiber connection is confirmed to be stable and active via the standard setup, I can then proceed with transitioning to my own equipment. Thank you for all the advice you have given me regarding this situation. I will keep you informed of how it goes and share the outcome of my next steps. Thanks again everyone!
